Analysis of the coyote population of Dona Ana County, New Mexico. Rogers, J. G. Ph.D. Thesis, New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, New Mexico, 1965.
abstract   bibtex
The status of the coyote population in south-central New Mexico was studied during 1964 and 1965. Analysis of a dynamic life table indicates that the coyote population in south-central New Mexico is stationary. Two methods of relative census, catch per trap-night and density contact index, indicate that coyotes are equally abundant on the mesquite dune type and the desert grassland type.
