Aluminum pack cementation of Mo-Si-B alloys. Sakidja, R., Rioult, F., Werner, J., & Perepezko, J., H. Scripta Materialia, 55(10):903-906, 2006. Paper abstract bibtex The application of a pack cementation coating of aluminum on Mo-rich Mo-Si-B alloys prior to oxygen exposure yields a significant improvement in the oxidation resistance over a wide temperature range (732-1372 °C). Upon exposure to oxygen, the Mo3Al8-rich layer that forms during the aluminum pack cementation treatment develops a protective Al2O3layer on the surface that can be maintained by inhibiting Al diffusion into the substrate. © 2006 Acta Materialia Inc.
