Paper doi abstract bibtex This study presents results of the investigation on CNPq's productivity researchers in Information Science (IS), in its relationship with the theoretical competing frameworks in the field of scientific production in the periodical literature of IS in Brazil. It characterizes the scientific research produced by them based on the assumption that scientific work, developed in a particular social context and historical moment, reflects the changes and contradictions of this context, both in its internal organization and in its applications. It analyzes a corpus of articles of these researchers in journals indexed at Brapci database, that become part of a specific base in which are identified: total of articles annually produced by the researchers PQs1 in the period 1978 to 2015; relations between these authors and their theoretical foundations, relations between them and their privileged themes, as well as the journals in which they publish. The obtained data allow to affirm that: a) the most expressive production of the scholarship holders PQs1 occurred between 2006 and 2011; b) the selected journals that contain the majority of the scholarship production are Revista de Ciência da Informação and DataGramazero; c) the most recurrent themes in this production are related to technology, networks, libraries, systems and scientific communication; d) desconsidering their own researches, which play a significant role in the process of IS consolidation, some of the other main theoretical references they use are the theorists as Saracevic, Bourdieu, Wersig, Levy, Lancaster and Castells.
