The Ontology of Silence and Comparative Mysticism [link]Paper  abstract   bibtex
An ontology of silence, As provided in b dauenhauer's "silence" (1983), Can be enhanced by an analysis of mystical silence in both theistic and non-Theistic traditions. Such an analysis indicates that the determinate in the world has no greater importance than the self. It also suggests that the signitive domain does not play the decisive role in every mystical silence; another would be the action domain. Different aspects of the "transformative" character of 'deep silence' need to be analyzed for a comprehensive study of silence.
