 abstract = {The purpose of this paper is to present an authoring tool for the development of a distance learning hypermedia intelligent tutoring system (HITS). Designed to satisfy guidelines of accessibility of the W3C recommendation for authors and learners that present disabilities, the authoring tool allows several authors geographically dispersed to cooperate to produce such tutors together. It consists of a shared workspace gathering all tools necessary to the cooperative development task. After describing the structure of the generated ITS, the client-server architecture of the authoring tool and the mechanism needed to manage the notification and group awareness is outlined.},
