TITLE: The genus Ulmus, and taxonomy of Ulmus minor and U. glabra. A brief summary i given on the taxonomic and nomenclatural problems in the genus Ulmus (U imaceae), especially in sect. Ulmus. Hybrid s between the species are relatively common or easy to produce, except for U. americana L. and U. laevis Pallas. A fairly wide species concept in the genus is accepted . However, the author considers that two subspecies, a norhern one and a southern one, should be recognized in the Wych elm (Uimus glabra Hudson).
