A Grammatical Approach to the Extraction of Index Terms. Vilares, J. & Alonso, M., A. In International Conference on Recent Advances in Natural Language Processing, pages 500-504, 2003.
abstract   bibtex
The extraction of the keywords that characterize each document in a given collection is one of the most important components of an Information Retrieval system. In this article, we propose to apply shallow parsing, implemented by means of cascades of nite-state transducers, to extract complex index terms based on an approximate grammar of Spanish. The eectiveness of the index terms extracted has been evaluated through the CLEF collection.
