"Captain Shield" is a comic strip that was born in Ecuador in 2006 and is in circulation thirteen years consecutively. The comic is a means of communication whose scope is massive and can transmit various types of messages. This research seeks to verify the possibility of rescuing values in this comic of Ecuadorian roots. Within the investigation a wide collection of information was made which served to verify the validity of the premise, the different aspects that are analyzed within it are necessary elements for the narrative-visual construction of a story and even more so if it is a question of a hero whose goal is to change his country with small actions and leaving morals to his readers. For data collection, interviews and surveys were carried out which gave quite positive results regarding the use of comics as an educational and communicative medium that is not only a practice of our country, but also extends to other countries, because in the geography of the continent Latin American comic is constituted as a means of communication, it shows different types of messages accompanied by literary resources and onomatopoeia which help to enhance the story that is being broadcast. To conclude the conclusions reached after carrying out the investigation, they announced the importance of “Captain Shield” in the social environment and children and young people feel identified with the hero and express in many ways the dream of being like the
