Paper doi abstract bibtex In this work pairing of polarons in quasi two-dimensional lattice is studied within the framework of extended Holstein–Hubbard model. Schrödinger equation is derived for two in-plane polarons that interact with apical ions of cuprates. Pairing thresholds of in-plane inter-site polaron pairs with s-, p- and d-symmetries of wave functions are obtained at Γ-point with truncated interaction potential.
