Tapered mode multiplexers for single mode to multi mode fibre mode transitions. Yerolatsitis, S., Gris-Sánchez, I., & Birks, T. In Optical Fiber Communication Conference, OFC 2015, 2015.
abstract   bibtex
© OSA 2015.Three-mode multiplexers were made by post-processing existing SMF-28 fibres. The input was three identical SMFs which were fused together and adiabatically tapered to form a multimode output core. The light was converted to the LP01 and two LP11 with low loss (0.6-0.7 dB). The mode multiplexers were broadband.
