Thermopower of Cuprate Superconductors under Hydrostatic Pressure [link]Paper  doi  abstract   bibtex
Measurements of thermopower versus temperature under hydrostatic pressure are reported for La2-xSrxCuO4 having no charge reservoir and the underdoped YBa2Cu3O7-δ, which we demonstrate to have a pressure-induced electron transfer from the CuO2 sheets to the Cu(1)O1-δ reservoir planes. The CuO2 sheets exhibit a thermopower α(T) = α0+δα(T) in which α≈α0 at room temperature decreases with increasing hole concentration, and δα(T) is an enhancement having a maximum at Tmax = 100–140 K. Correlation between dTc/dP and d(δα)/dP are discussed.
